Born in Mexico and raised in the Chicago area, Adriana Contreras discovered her passion for beauty and hairstyling at an early age. After earning her cosmetology license, she spent time working in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she expanded her experience with different hair types, textures, and styles.

At just 21 years old, Adriana opened her first salon in Ainsworth, Iowa. Her talent, determination, and commitment to treating every client like family helped her build a loyal following throughout Eastern Iowa. She later opened Adriana’s Salon & Boutique in Iowa City and expanded with a second location, Adriana’s Salon & Blowdry Bar, in Coralville.

Today, Adriana brings more than 20 years of experience to her salons. She is passionate about creating welcoming spaces where individuals and families from every background can receive professional beauty services, feel comfortable, and leave looking and feeling their best.

As a wife, mother of five, and longtime local business owner, Adriana understands the importance of family and community. Those values are reflected in the personal attention, warm hospitality, and exceptional care clients experience at both Adriana’s locations.
